Guidance on legal frameworks for crowdfunding

24/11/2016

While cooperatives are more or less well-recognised throughout the EU as a legal entity, legal frameworks vary vastly from country to country, even within the European Union. This fact, at the very least, leads to confusion – in the case of sustainable energy funding, however, it can result in lower levels of public investment and engagement. Citizenergy has sought to clarify the matter and the differences between legal frameworks in six different EU countries in its latest legal review. An easy to understand online version of this review for France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK is now also available on the Citizenergy website, helping people answer important questions like: how much one can invest per project in Germany and if one can invest in French projects if not located in France?
