Citizenergy portal debut at the Renewable Energy Crowdfunding Conference in London
07/11/2015
London, United Kingdom. The Citizenergy portal made debut yesterday at the second edition of the Renewable Energy Crowdfunding Conference in London. Boa Energia’s Nuno Brito Jorge, the man behind the Citizenergy idea, took to the stage and presented the innovative concept: Citizenergy is not just another crowdfunding platform out to compete with all the rest – it is a platform that helps other platforms succeed by lending them visibility and an international audience they would not have otherwise been able to attract.
London, United Kingdom. The portal goes online with eight projects coming from six official partner platforms – other renewable crowdfunding platforms and renewable energy cooperatives across Europe that have linked up with Citizenergy to have their oganisations and even individual projects displayed.
• Abundance Generation, the world’s first crowdfunding platform for renewable energies located in the UK • De Windvogel, a Dutch wind energy cooperative with about 3300 members • Green Corwding, a German crowdfunding site specialising in energy efficiency projects and renewable energies • Lumo, a French crowdfunding site for renewables. • Som Energia, a highly successful Spanish renewable cooperative • Coopernico, Portugal’s first renewable energy cooperative
More information about the projects on offer for investors, mostly solar and wind projects, is visible on the platform directly; investment will have to be conducted directly on the various partner sites.
While the six founding platforms currently displayed are members of the Citizenergy team, the response from the crowd in London shows that it will only be a matter of time before the number of official Citizenergy partners platforms and cooperatives grows. With it, of course, will the array of projects offered via the site.
