The Mont d'Erny wind farm will take place on the upper part of a large agricultural plateau that separates the valleys of the Lys and the Laquette, about 15 km south of Saint-Omer. It was designed by two major players in the wind energy sector, Nordex France and Maïa Eolis. It consists of 9 wind turbines, Nordex ensuring the realization of wind turbines 1 to 5 located in the communes of Delettes and Enguinegatte. Elaborated since 2003, this project was authorized by the State services in November 2011. Construction began in the second half of 2016 and commissioning is planned for spring 2017. These 5 Nordex N100 wind turbines with a nominal unit power of 2.5 MW will produce about 36 000 000 kWh of renewable electricity each year, representing the electricity consumption of approximately 13 300 households or the consumption of 2,800 electric cars covering 13,000 km / year.
